At Edeptive we sometimes work with organisations who have very limited resources. This means that those customers have to rely on us to handle every aspect of implementing the edeptive™ content management system. The services we offer to ensure a successful implementation comprise of the following elements.

Site Design

We offer a site design service as part of our philosophy of providing a compete end-to-end solution to our customers. However, we are also very happy to work with your existing designer or design agency should you prefer.

If you do ask us to handle the site design we will create a draft design based upon your briefing, your existing branding and other input we receive from you. The design will be for the home page, a typical content page and any other areas of the site which require a special layout. The design will include the operation of the site's navigation model.

The design is made available to you to review online. We then revise the design to take account of any feedback we receive from you and will go through as many iterations as are required to reach the point where you are completely happy with the design.

Implementation

Once the design has been completed and approved we move into the implementation phase. Our objective is to develop a fully functional web site with the scope and functionality we agree during the and then hand this over to to you so that you can take over the day to day management and updating of the site.

Implementation services include the following:-

• Functional specification
• Template building
• Accessibility standards compliance
• Software configuration
• Definition of initial site structure
• Loading of sample content
• Installation of software on your server(s) if required
• Configuring interfaces with external systems
• Automated import of existing content
• Integration with Active Directory if required for Intranets

Hosting

edeptive™ is available as either an installed or a hosted software solution. We can provide hosting for your web site on our shared Application Servers. We then manage the updating of the software as new releases and fixes become available.

Training

All training is conducted using your developed web site. This means that we train you on the functionality actually used on your site. Users will therefore understand how to update and maintain your web site.
There are three levels of training required for edeptive™:-

• End User
  This generally takes ½ a day and equips the contributor or editor with all that they need to be able to add and manage content.
• Administrator
  This takes an additional ½ a day and will give an Administrator the understanding they need to administer users, security, the structure of the site and to manage the templates, forms etc.
• Technical
  Technical training (if required) would last two days and is aimed at the technical person supporting the site to gain an understanding of all the technical aspects of edeptive?.  This includes the creation of Templates, database administration, replication, web services etc.

Maintenance and Support

We continually enhance edeptive™ to provide new or improved functionality and to ensure full compatibility with new operating system or database software releases. We also ensure that the functionality of edeptive™ properly supports the most up to date accessibility standards, generic data feeds (like RSS), security and other technology and standards requirements.

Edeptive provides telephone and email support for nominated customer staff. We have an online support logging system (one of our Application Modules) which allows you to report and track problems, make enhancement requests etc. This system gives you complete visibility of the status of each support item and you are automatically emailed whenever notes are added to the item or its status is changed.

Bespoke Development

We are able to use our experience and expertise to design and develop bespoke functionality for our customers. This often means extending the functionality of edeptive™ to provide additional functionality.

For example Syfer Technology asked us to provide a way for their customers to 'build' a valid part number online and then request samples or a quotation. This was possible to achieve at modest cost because we were able to extend the functionality of our catalogue system rather than start from scratch.
