Sevenoaks School implements edeptive™ Content Management to further integration of website into school life

Sevenoaks School, one of the oldest of the UK independent schools, has some 980 pupils including international students from over 40 countries.  It has used the edeptive™ content management software solution to develop its web site to enable it to use the Internet as an integral part of its operating infrastructure.

Sevenoaks School’s original web site was created in the mid 90’s.  However, as volumes of content grew, so it became impossible for the existing tools and site management structure to cope.  Information became out of date and there was a growing backlog of site updating and development.

According to the School’s Head, Katy Ricks, “We have a clear vision of what we want out of the web, but we were becoming frustrated by the bottleneck of the existing site.  We had to something radical and therefore, after looking at what was available, decided to base our strategy around edeptive™.  Now our plans are starting to see fruition, we have the tools and the structure, but the opportunities are endless”.

Part of Sevenoak’s development plan was to delegate the management of content to teachers, students and, in some cases, ex pupils and parents, so eliminating the bottleneck of day-to-day content changes.  Using edeptive™, most departments now have content management responsibility.  The site now includes all school diaries, news stories, information on the curriculum and parent teacher association details.

Andrew Bailey, Managing Director of Edeptive comments “The successful organisations in the future are those that take full advantage of the power and flexibility of the Internet to cut manual and intermediary tasks to a minimum.   Sevenoaks has fully recognised this and I am very pleased that our Company is partnering with them.”
