Alterian suffered the common problem of having a web site which was only up-to-date on the day it was launched - thereafter it quickly dropped behind events and failed to represent the company accurately. About to embark on their third such iteration they were in need a solution which would allow them to easily and cheaply keep the site up-to-date every day.
Organization
Alterian are a software company based in the UK but with significant USA based operation. They provide latest generation CRM analytics solutions underpinned by its high performance CBAT technology.
Challenge
Alterian needed a solution which would allow their existing employees, both in the UK and the US, to easily keep the site up-to-date every day, without extensive training. One key objective for Alterian was to use their Internet site to build a marketing database. Alterian did not want to have the expense or overhead of establishing and running their own web server.
Solution
The Edeptive content management system was chosen for its ease of use, browser-based admin, rapid deployment and ability to apply multiple categories to any item of content and display just those items matching user-chosen criteria. Alterian are also using the edeptive™ Visitor Management Module to allow visitors to registor their interest in Alterian and to manage an ongoing campaign of email based communication with those visitors. Alterian uses edeptive™ running on a hosted application server.
Result
The site went live in a only few weeks, despite some design decisions not being made until the last minute. Both UK and US employees have been updating the site, having received training over the telephone, with follow-on support by e-mail and phone.
Technical Notes
The Edeptive content management system is an ASP-based solution which runs on all NT4 and Windows2000 servers, using one or more MS-SQL Server databases for storage. edeptive™ is modular and extensible, with 19 generic modules already in place.
